My name is Sash Dumont, and I am an Independent Historical & Genealogical Consultant based in St. Boniface, Manitoba, with over 20 years of specialized research experience across Western Canadian, Métis, and New France historical records.

My background as a former paralegal gives me a direct understanding of court filings, estate processes, and the rigorous evidentiary standards required for legal and official documentation. I strictly adhere to the Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS)—a professional framework ensuring all conclusions are credible, fully sourced, and built on exhaustive archival research.

I reject the romanticized narratives often found in popular historical interpretations. I believe history lives in primary written documents and that these records must speak for themselves.
